Terron Mitchell

Terron Mitchell's exhibit continues through January. Terron Is a sculptural painter who primarily creates abstracts from wooden sheathing boards. He intricately carves each piece and layers the materials in a three-dimensional fashion. To add color, he creates oil stains by mixing oil pigments with thinning agents and applying them to the wood thinly to assure that the natural wood grain design remains exposed. Hours: 5:30-8pm.

Bronwen Hazlett
Aqua House by Bronwen Hazlett

The works featured in the exhibition embody an experimental process that invites the viewer to be both captivated by Hazlett’s imagery and intrigued by her process. Inspired by an early nomadic journey in life, her work is rooted in concepts of home, place, memory, and self-healing. While exploring philosophical alchemy (understanding your true nature, purging negativity, and living your life), Hazlett exposes her lived experiences by pushing traditional darkroom techniques in new directions. The show continues through January 22.

The artist will be onsite during Art Loop de-installing a Lumen print which has been curing in DCAD's front window since December 3rd. Hazlett will reveal the imagery created by the long-exposure and discuss the process of Lumen printing. She will then install a final Lumen print in the window to allow passerby to engage with the process and changes over the final two weeks of the exhibition.

Stop by the Toni and Stuart B. Gallery at DCAD to view the exhibition and meet photographer Bronwen Hazlett. Artist Talk and Demonstrations 5:30 pm and 6:30 pm.

Pacem in Terris Traveling Peace Youth Art Exhibition

Grand Gallery: Since 1934, the Delaware Photographic Society has sponsored the Wilmington Exhibition of International Photography. Photographers from all over the world enter this prestigious exhibit showing their remarkable interpretations of people and places worldwide.

In 2020 the judging for the exhibit was completed and ready to hang when Covid occurred, and the exhibit had to be cancelled. This show at the Grand Opera House is a collection of some of the award-winning prints from the 2020 Wilmington Exhibition of International Photography.

Baby grand Gallery: What is your Vision of a Peaceful World?

What is your vision of a peaceful world? What does peace mean to you? Over 700 students from 40 Delaware schools and community organizations answered those questions by submitting inspiring artwork and descriptions for the Pacem in Terris 6th Annual Visionary Peace Youth Art Exhibition. Local art and peace leaders selected the strongest messages of peace to travel throughout Delaware as part of the 2021-22 Pacem in Terris Traveling Peace Youth Art Exhibition.

This juried exhibition showcases a diverse collection of beautiful, original, inspiring visions and messages of peace. The young artists, between 5-18 years old, submitted their artwork from public, private, and charter schools along with community groups. Seven additional collections of Traveling Peace youth artwork are concurrently exhibited at galleries and locations across the state. For details, see the Pacem in Terris website.

We are grateful to the young artists and their art teachers, along with the volunteers, generous sponsors, and donors for their support. Special thanks to Jerry’s Artarama and our partner, The Delaware Contemporary. This exhibition is supported, in part, by grants from the Laffey McHugh Foundation and The Delaware Division of the Arts. The Delaware Division of the Arts is a state agency, in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts. The Division promotes Delaware Art events on

These pieces are a collage of urban life and scripture- a reflection of God's omnipresence.
